City Goals
The City of Buffalo Lake’s goals are to monitor and continue to
improve the City's qualities associated with being a small, yet
progressive, full-service community. Soliciting, attracting and
introducing new commerce and enterprise along with retaining and enhancing
existing business is a major component of this effort. The City of Buffalo
Lake boasts a committed and aggressive Economic Development Authority that
has the main role in planning and directing the course of present and
future efforts toward economic development through the use of grant
efforts, loan programs, and financial consulting
City Hall Hours: Monday
- Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
City Council Meets: Second
Thursday per month
Location:
Community Center at 7:30
Agenda Procedures: All business must
be on the agenda by noon the Friday before the Council meeting. The Council will
hold a time where the citizens can address the Council early in the
meeting. The Council will listen but may not act until a later date,
giving the City time to research problem(s) or request(s).
Building Permits:
$25.00/permit.
Must be pre-approved by Council for all construction and improvement projects.
Utility Billing:
Quarterly billing: March 1st, June 1st, September 1st, and December 1st.
Deposit - $125.00 required for first time resident
Payment-Due 30 days, pay at City Hall, may use drop box at west entrance.
Shut off/Turn on water - $25.00 each time turned off and on.
Garbage Collections: Curbside
collection early Friday morning.

Recycling:
Curbside Collection - Every other Friday. Purchase tubs at City Hall ($5.00)
Mobile Drop Box Every other Friday on the
south side of the Community Center between 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Community Center Rental:
City Hall books rentals. A signed lease and rental fees are needed in advance.
$50.00-Auditorium and Kitchen
$30.00-Auditorium only.
$100.00 deposit (refundable)
City Landfill:
Only open for tree branches, grass clippings, leaves & garden wastes.
Open Wednesday from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m-4:00 p.m.
Community Groups:
Community Club, Lions, Rod and Gun Club, Boys and Girls Scouts, 4-H Club. Church
Organizations: Brotherhood, Ladies Aid, Youth Groups and Bible Study groups.
