Buffalo Lake Minnesota
About Us

History: .Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, located in the very heart of the most prime agricultural land in America, was named after a small lake north of the city limits. Buffalo Lake was a favorite stopping place and watering hole for horse-drawn wagons and U.S. Troops making the trip from Fort Ridgely  to Hutchinson. Large herds of buffalo roamed the prairie at the time, hence the city's name. The city was surveyed in 1881.
